Hope and Chance — recovery support community
Washington State 501(c)(3) Nonprofit  ·  Seattle · Tacoma · Everett Soon

Recovery Needs More Than Treatment.
It Needs Stability.

Hope & Chance Integrated Health provides temporary supportive recovery housing for up to 180 days for adults recovering from alcohol addiction, narcotic addiction, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders throughout Seattle and Tacoma, with Everett coming soon.

While participants focus entirely on treatment and healing, we remove every barrier outside the clinic — housing, transportation, peer support, care coordination, and the day-to-day stability that makes lasting recovery possible.

We Handle Everything
Outside the Clinic

Treatment programs are exceptional at what they do. But treatment alone cannot provide a safe home, a ride to tomorrow’s appointment, or someone to call at 10 PM when cravings hit. That’s exactly what Hope & Chance does.

A Safe Place to Recover
Changes Everything

Many people enter treatment while experiencing housing instability. They may be couch-surfing, in shelters, or returning to environments that threaten their recovery. Even the best clinical care becomes harder to sustain when the basics aren’t secure.

Without stable housing, people in recovery struggle to attend treatment consistently, manage medications, avoid triggers, and build the daily routines that support long-term sobriety. Housing instability is one of the leading reasons treatment doesn’t hold. Hope & Chance removes those barriers entirely.

About Our Housing Program

Missed Appointments

No stable address means no consistent access to treatment, medications, or support.

Relapse Risk

Returning to unsafe environments dramatically increases the risk of returning to use.

Broken Focus

Survival stress — where will I sleep tonight — makes healing nearly impossible.

What We Change

Safe housing, daily support, and transportation eliminate these barriers — completely.

02   Peer Recovery Support

Someone Who Gets It — Because They Lived It

Our Recovery Empowerment Specialists have walked the path of recovery themselves. When they say "I understand," it's not a clinical phrase — it's lived truth. That difference is why peer support works where other interventions fall short.

  • Regular check-ins that catch problems before they become crises
  • Mentorship through milestones, setbacks, and the hard in-between
  • Accountability that feels like support, not surveillance
  • Crisis de-escalation — someone to call when 988 isn't enough

Missing a Ride Should Never Cost Someone Their Recovery

We've provided over 5,000 rides to treatment. Every single one represents a session attended, a test passed, a moment of progress that wouldn't have happened without a car. For our residents, that ride is not a convenience. It is the difference.

  • Treatment & IOP appointments — never miss a session
  • Medical, pharmacy, and wellness appointments
  • Recovery meetings — AA, NA, SMART Recovery, faith-based
  • Job interviews and employment-related activities

04   Care Coordination

Connecting Every Piece of the Recovery Puzzle

Recovery doesn't exist in a vacuum. It requires healthcare, income, food stability, benefits, and community. Our care coordination team navigates that complexity on behalf of each resident — so they can focus on getting better.

  • Apple Health (Medicaid) & SNAP enrollment support
  • Medical and specialist referrals
  • Behavioral health coordination with treatment providers
  • Connection to employment, legal aid, and community services

We Don't Drop You at the Door

Our housing is intentionally temporary — but that doesn't mean the support ends. From day one, we're building toward what comes after: permanent housing, a job, a community, and a life. No resident leaves without a plan and warm connections already in place.

  • Personalized housing exit plan — begins at move-in, not move-out
  • Job readiness, resume support, and employer connections
  • Permanent housing search — subsidized, shared, and market options
  • Warm handoff to ongoing community recovery support

Recovery Often Fails
Not Because Treatment Doesn’t Work

It fails because life gets in the way. When someone leaves a treatment program without stable housing, reliable transportation, peer support, and daily structure — even the best clinical care becomes harder to sustain.

We believe every person deserves the opportunity to focus entirely on healing — without worrying about where they will sleep, how they will get to treatment, or whether they can meet their basic needs. Recovery shouldn’t fail because someone didn’t have a safe place to live.

That is why Hope & Chance exists. And it is why our partnership with New Era Mental Health creates something neither organization could offer alone — a complete, integrated pathway from treatment to lasting independent recovery.

Our Story & Mission
Clinical Partnership
New Era Mental Health

Our clinical partner provides licensed outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment, mental health counseling, medication management, and psychiatric care — the clinical foundation every resident in our housing program is actively engaged in.

“Both sides show up — every day — so that our clients don’t have to choose between treatment and survival.”
